World's 50 Best Restaurants

Eleven Madison Park in NYC became the first US restaurant to take the top spot since Thomas Keller's French Laundry in 2003 and 2004.  Quite an achievement!

I read an article that said dinner for 2 was typically $1000 or more. Who will take 1 for the team and report back?

I will!  But I'll leave MH at home so it will only be $500.

That's insanely expensive.  From the looks of those pictures, I'd have to eat about 8 menu items before I'd even begin to feel somewhat fed..

Seems strange to me that 4 of the 50 are between San Sebastian and Bilbao, Spain. Since Pie Diva and I will be there next month, I tried to reserve at each of the four and they were all closed or booked on those dates. You are allowed to tell her what a thoughtful & wonderful husband I am for trying.

What would you do with the other seven courses? (it's a fixed tasting menu with 15 courses)

It would be about $1000 for two only if both had the champagne, wines, and brandy pairing.

You really didn't want that beef chop from #6.  Peasant food is so much better.

Lisa,

 Bobbi had grilled chicken.

I had grilled sausage and some beans.

Each was under 15 Euros and fantastic. I love the beans in Spain.

15 Euro's wouldn't buy a glass of water at one of the above mentioned "50 best".
