And Scandihoovian too! We spent three days in Minnesota and dismissed the Hmong, Somalian and Juicy Lucy's and still had some amazing Roadfood

Excellent.  When the Spring Crawl eventually makes its way to the Twin Cities, you'll have a long list for us.

First the Spring Crawl has to make it's way through Gary Indiana, Springfield IL, Gahanna and Pittston!

So, Hartford, WI, good old farm country... and they have Sal's Pizza... New York style pizza is advertised and yes !  they do give the goods.. NY style it is and it is awesome!  they parbake many different topped pies daily, and they sell by the slice (heat it up in the big oven when you order).. always comes with homemade garlic knots.  Always good.. Served on paper plates.  What more could you ask?  I know what I'm asking.. why don't I live closer so they would deliver?  They have delivery in a limited range. Looks like they also have sandwiches and pasta. But the pizza is to die for.

How ironic All Good, We have 1 of the 3 Sal's here in Appleton (also 1 in FDL) and I was telling "the Screaming Chicken" how good they were...They are the only place we order from. I lived in NY and other places on the east coast and the Pizza is right on, as far as WI. goes. The Cheese Steak is excellent also.

I don't eat at chains.

It looks like Sal's is just a couple of blocks east of Stuc's, so maybe I'll get a chance to give them a try in a couple of months.

I don't either SC!  Frank's/Stuc's/Sal's All Very Good...all Very different. Frank's delivered doesn't work...soggy....great when eaten there, thinner crust....large Franks Special...the way to go-Pricey for this area though.
Stuc's does not deliver....we used to live in the neighborhood close by. Good thicker Pizza..great Calzones-Stromboli's
Sal's delivers.....great delivery girl....reheats well...best NY representation in this area....it's a crazy post bar place also.

How could a California Roll be inappropriate in California? Don't you mean a California roll in Rhode Island!

I was referring to Mar's comment that The French Dip was the only regionally appropriate item invented in LA and it was named "French" I was specifically pointing out a regionally appropriate item invented in LA and although it didn't have "LA or Los Angeles" in the name, it did have California
