RE: local organic food-is it happening where you live?
I often hit the farm stands. When I was single, they had some all over the place in Milwaukee. The farmer would rent his stand and sell his crops direct to the consumer.
Now, since my wife lived in the same house since she was born, I live in the boonies (but it's growing pretty fast). I can just drive a couple miles and hit a farm stand that's actually on the farm proper and buy my eggs and (you don't know how good it is until you've had it) corn on the cob that was picked that very day, sometimes by me or the Mrs. Tomatoes and strawberries are up in force, too.
Gotta get me a pressure cooker and do some canning.
