I have made a 150 mile round trip into NYC just to get Chinese food that is not available where I live. There are no sit down Chinese places here, there are two competing buffets and take-out. It seems that the take-out places have the same pictures over the counter and I almost believe that the menus are all identical. Do people still eat chow mein and chop suey?
If I do order take-out, it is General Tso's chicken or some kind of noodles.
That said, I will usually get the roast duck, along with char sui steamed and baked pork buns, which I will bring back home on the train. The whole Metroliner becomes infused with the aroma of roast duck.
