I had dinner last night with my GF and her brother at our favorite neighborhood Italian joint, Carmine's Italian Seafood Restaurant around 6:30 pm. It's located on Beekman Street near the South Street Seaport and just steps from the location of the former Fulton Fish Market in Lower Manhattan. We were the only ones there an a rare slow night. Here are the pics:
Here is my 1/2 order of lobster fra diavolo. This was pretty big for a 1/2 order and very tasty. The spiciness was just right and not too hot.
The veal parmesan with spaghetti. I know, hard to see the veal under the cheese and sauce, but her brother really liked it.
My GF's Zuppa di Pesce. Clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops and calamari in a brothy tomato sauce. Incredibly good and huge! A real classic dish.
Complimentary salad. Like the salad I grew up with a the local Italian restaurants of my youth.
They just finished repainting this. 105 years and still going strong!
