The second part of your question/comment is one I agree with wholeheartedly!! I will NEVER step into a Morton's Steak House again. One time being treated like the poor country Rube they obviously thought I was, is all I will ever stand for. The servers and the Host were arrogant and rude and ignored us as much as possible, while fawning over neighboring parties in the over-crowded dining room. I have no experience at Any Ruth/Chris's outlet, but if they are run in the same 'manner' as Morton's I am not interested in trying them at all.
My wife and I ate at Morton's here in Philly once and only because someone gave us a giftcard. I would give the giftcard away if I get another one. Not only was I not terribly impressed by the food, but that presentation the servers do at the beginning, where they basically wheel out all of the food on the menu, raw, and give a whole shpeel on what everything is was one of the stranger experiences I've had at a restaurant. It's one thing to show the various cuts of meat to diners beforehand, but do I really need to be shown a raw head of broccoli to know whether I want to order some?
My wife and I joked about our experience there for weeks after the meal; and not in complimentary terms.
