RE: spaghetti sauce
Sundancer: I am unstoppable when I really want a restaurant's recipe, especially when they are so tight-lipped about it. Cozy up to the busboys...they are in and out of the kitchen and don't have so much to lose. I once traded my phone number for an amazing bread pudding recipe. This is drastic, and kind of unethical, but I did once call a restaurant (that had been really rude to me when I asked about the mystery ingredient) and claimed to be having an allergic reaction. ME: "What was in that sauce? Was there any garlic, because I will have to go to the hospital..." Waitress: "Oh, dear! Maybe it could be the Teriyaki sauce?!"
