The Roadfood group managed to fill three tour buses for Saturday's big fais-do-do. I thought I might see more Roadfood dot-commers there, but it seems like we were in the minority this time around. Everyone we asked said they heard about the trip via emails from friends. I know a lot of you were there that we missed, but we did see Buffet Buster.
The first stop was at Hansen's Sno-bliz. Read all about it!
In line we were standing next to Bruce Bilmes and Sue Boyle, as well as the two-headed Roadfood reviewer Ayersian, so that was serendipitous. We got along like a house on fire.
What is the difference between a sno-cone, snowball and a sno-bliz? The fineness of the ice shavings. And sno-bliz is the finest of them all. Plus, they said, "It IS our brand." Everyone was impressed by the original ice...umm, sno-bizzer machine. But then, guys are drawn to shiny metal just like crows.
To simplify things there were three flavors available to us. Strawberry, tart satsuma and nectar. Nectar, like hummingbird nectar? I asked a number of people to describe it and they said, "It's sweet. Real sweet." It was similar to a cream soda. Just about everyone went for the condensed milk on top. Yum!!! They also have a signature flavor there called "sno-bliz" that they liken to tart strawberry.
I liked that they had a baby-duper in addition to the super-duper
