Haddock and Chips, with slaw $3.99

For those of you in the northeast, Price Chopper is running an "Every day is Fryday" promotion. For your 3.99 you get a whole fillet from a smallish Haddock (the actual fillet is about a foot long). It is the same "FAS Haddock" that seems to be exclusive to PC around here. The guy takes the fish off the iced display and cooks to order. (FAS= Frozen at Sea). Because you buy it in a supermarket it doesn't even have a tax.
It is excellent, and better than most.  We plan to have it at least once a week as long as the promo runs.

That is an incredible deal. Price Chopper and Big Y are two supermarket chains in the northeast that run a "fish and chip" joint in their in-store seafood departments. While the quality of their seafood is not on the same level as, say, Legal Sea Foods, they are head-and-shoulders above budget seafood places and FF chains like Long John Silver's.

I used to love having those for lunch. I think 2 1/2 yrs. ago they were $5.99.
they also had all the different buffet tables by the pound.
