Re:Who Wants to Enjoy the Great American Food and Music Fest to the Max?
I have been following your work for years. I grew up in the same town that you did. I normally agree with most of your opinions. However, I must disagree with your support and affiliation with this event. This event is a total Ripoff!! In this economy, to charge a cover charge which gets you nothing but within 1000 feet or more (binocular range) of these 'seminars." I don't think any of us need to see any of the bad Food Network Cooks who for the most part know nothing of food. Food network stopped being taken seriously about 7 years ago when all the real chefs left or were fired.
Look at the lineup. Not enough restaurants (lines will be horrendous, parking will likely be charged, no serious regional cooks leading seminars, and food charges are extra. I don't mind paying for the food but 40 bucks for what? I wonder who the charlatans are who will be making a tidy profit from this event?
If managed properly and by ethical folks, something like this could be fun. This event is exactly the opposite of the spirit of Roadfood.
Stay Away all.
