Re:South Jersey Tamales
Nope; not sure. You might check City Data and their New Jersey forum.Someone might post something about mexican food in your area. My sister who lives in Piermont,NY has told me of the dearth of tamales in her area.
Maybe i'll order some for her and her husband from Delicious Tamales in San Antonio and ship them to her. There are companies like Delicious Tamales and others that make them and will ship them to you,if you can't find any local ones but they aren't check. They have to be shipped with dry ice or something to keep them from spoiling. I saw at Walmart here a tamale kit from Rosarita.
It has the husks and seasonings. Not sure what all is included with the kit.
By the way,I have Robb Walsh's Texmex Cookbook. It has a real simple recipe for making tamales. I'll have to copythe recipe and post it for you.I followed it;however I mixed ready made enchilda sauce and ground beef or you can use pork and rolled the meat cigars in cornmeal. Then I wrapped them in corn husks and steamed them.Came out pretty good.
