asparagus season is almost over here
Like sweet corn asparagus has become a year around product due to modern shipping. I don't think that they do as good a job with the shipped in asparagus as they do with the corn. Stores work hard to keep it fresh, often standing it in water, but it just is not as good as the local stuff. We Americans like it green, but I was reading that almost all of the asparagus in Germany's aparagus belt is white. Maybe it is an aquired taste. I don't care for the white.
