End o' the week ----Hot Tub Soup

I have a 1st class, cute little grand daughter who calls the Crock Pot, or Slow Cooker----"The Hot Tub"--- I could correct her but it is more fun to go along and now it is part of my vocabulary and may always be.

So when she showed up today and saw the Crock crocking away she asked---What's in the hot tub, Gramps ??

It is "Soup de Jour" Sarah-------soup of the day !!!!!

Actually it is soup of the week's leftovers.

The carcass of a young baked chicken who died that I may live !!!
The broth made from the chicken's wing tips, and heart and neck and other un-mentionables, plus a couple of boullion cubes and a bunch of water.

An Onion, a carrot, a couple of ------ of celery ( forgive me I can not remember what the hell they are called )

And then whatever is left in the refrigerator on Friday the day before we shop again----today it was the end of a head of romaine and the end of a head of cabbage.

Celery Ribs----that's what they are called.

And so my dear Sarah---I will cook up a lot of rice and with the soup de jour and some good French Bread we will have a feast.

Bon Jour mon amie

I am off to the kitchen.
