Help me identify this unusual steak!
Ok gang, need your help again (as usual):
A few years ago, I used to buy in the supermarket a type of packaged minute-style steak (available at the meat dept.). I can't for the life of me remember the name of the brand, but my local stores stopped selling it.
OK: The steaks were two to a pack, and were pounded thin on the outside (something like cheesesteak meat), but in between the two layers of steaks, was what was a lot like a thinly-pounded cube steak. These "layered" steaks would cook up in a matter of minutes and made great sandwiches.
The name of the brand was a German-sounding name, and I believe the company is either located in New York State or Pennsy.
I spent the better part of 15 minutes one day, describing to the best of my ability these steaks to the manager of the store that no longer carries them. He was polite, but looked at me as if I had been smoking something suspicious.
In order to suggest to the store that they re-stock these steaks, I need to know the brand! Can anyone help? Or am I...helpless?
Starving for (these) steaks,
